Please vote yes on Senate Joint Resolution 19 Sir; The 1976 Supreme Court decision on 'Buckley', declaring that money is speech, and last years McCutcheon decision, allowing the rich to give as much money to political campaigns as they wish, allows the few, the rich, to 'DROWN OUT' the political voices of the many, the people. Citizens United in 2010 made it even worse, by declaring that corporations are “people” allowing corporations to give as much money to political campaigns as they wish further drowning out the political voices of the many, the people. Corporations are not people! Corporations can't think. Corporations have no souls, no feelings. Corporations survive only on instinct, like sharks whose only instincts are to eat and grow and reproduce. A corporations only instincts are to devour more market share and to increase profit margins. Why should the voices of the few, the rich and the corporations, carry more weight in the political direction of this country than the voices of the many, the people? The Preamble to our Constitution reads - We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America. It does not read - We the few, the rich and the corporations, in order to permanently establish each other as the top heirarchy controlling all power in this country in order to pander to each others needs and desires, pledge to cast the many, the people, out among the sharks to survive as best they can. I'm writing this letter in hopes to convince you to please vote yea to Senate Joint Resolution 19 and restore political balance in this country to the original intent of the creators of our Constitution.
