For the past couple of months, I've noticed many examples on this site and others and bulletin boards where authors, originators and commentors who are long time and/or casual Republican voters have decided that because of the bullsh*t, craziness, meanness and just plain hate emanating from the far right and the Christian right quarters of the Republican party and the inability of party leadership and the reasonable members to temper this behavior that they are going to vote for the Democratic candidate (Obama). Anecdotally, this would seem to point to a shift in power away from the conservative side to a more liberal national government.

Can any of the authors, seeders, posters or commentors here point me to a source that is doing or has done reliable research on this question?
